Through his astute leadership, Mr. Gehlot has guided the company over the last twenty eight years into a position of prominence within both Kenya and the East African region.

Providing clear direction in Finance, Administration, Real Estate Management and Marketing, Mr. Gehlot has successfully steered Intex into the 21st century, through the introduction of new work processes and a modern management style which has significantly improved productivity and efficiency for the past 9 years.

With over 45 years experience in civil enineering and project management, Mr. Tak has successfully headed the Contracts and Legal Divisions for twenty five years. He has been instrumental in ensuring efficiency in tendering, negotiation, construction, contract administration, arbitration, mediation and other functions leading to finalization of contracts.

Mr. Tak leads a team of highly skilled project and site managers and, through the introduction of effective work systems and policies, ensures proper coordination and management of road construction sites through efficient distribution of resources and expertise.

Mr. Dave is in charge of general office administration and management of various road construction and real estate projects.

Mr. GP Gehlot is responsible for ground improvement and civil works, tendering,
budgeting and marketing..
He has over 40 years of vast experience in Civil and Structural Engineering.

Mr. Reddy is responsible for ensuring timely and safe execution of the road
project.
He has over 20 years of vast experience in various aspects of civil engineering

Mr. Ismail is responsible for ensuring timely and safe execution of the road
project.
He has over 15 years of vast exposure to modern technology in civil and structural
engineering including project construction and management.

Mr. Mulanya is responsible for managing day to day operations on all civil
engineering works including earthworks, structures and bridgeworks. He is also
responsible for coordinating site activities and subcontractors to ensure compliance

He has over 20 years of vast experience in various aspects of civil engineering,
Highways, bridges, water and sewerage supply and Buildings.

Mr. Gitonga is responsible for overseeing assigned site field activities and ensuring project execution is carried out in a safe manner to promote company safety culture.
He has over 8 years of vast experience in civil engineering execution, planning, budgeting and quality control.

Mr. Murage is responsible for overseeing assigned site field activities and
ensuring project execution is carried out in a safe manner to promote company
safety culture.
He has over 6 years of vast experience in civil engineering execution, planning,
budgeting and quality control.

As the overall workshop manager, Mr. Yadav is responsible for maintenance and repairs to all plant and equipment. Over the last 25 years he has accrued vast experience in managing workshop staff, including both skilled and semi-skilled personnel.

With over 20 years experience in Procurement and Logistics, Mr Shah overseas the systematic execution of procedures for the timely and cost effective purchasing of all equipment, materials and services required for the ongoing projects, having regard to the Company requirements and generally accepted public or ethical policies, legal requirements.
Joyce has over 20 years experience gained in the management of Human Resources.
She is responsible for coordinating acquisition, development and retention of
best possible manpower available to strategize and achieve result – oriented
goals for Intex Construction Limited.
She provides guidance and advice to the board and senior management on best HR
practice to make Intex an employer of choice in Africa.

With over 10 years experience in fleet management services, M Kwambai is responsible for effective implementation of fleet management systems for Intex Construction Limited. He also oversees the development and maintenance of effective workshop safety and performance standards, policies, and procedures; assuring accuracy of shop and parts inventories; reviews divisional budgets.

Intex has a longstanding tradition of excellence in the construction industry. Founded by Chairman Mr. K.S. Gehlot, Intex Construction Ltd was incorporated in June 1982 to deliver construction, building, civil engineering and real estate contracts.
Twenty eight years on, we continue to benefit from the leadership of the original management team, now supported and enriched by fresh talent and energy. We are proud both of our achievements and our reputation within the industry, and we are clearly focused on investing in our future growth within the region.
Over the past 28 years, Intex has been invited to tender for and subsequently won contracts of increasing value and prestige. We have built up our manpower and equipment base by investing in and developing a team with a strong presence across the country, in order to meet the growing demand for our services. Having started with a small office in Nairobi, our workforce now totals approximately 500 people, across four locations: Nairobi, Meru, Embu, Kirinyaga and Isiolo.
Since 1995, Intex has also operated permanent offices in Uganda, through our sister company M/s Intex Building and Civil Engineering Contractors Limited, located in Kampala. Intex has successfully completed and handed over a portfolio of projects worth Kshs14 billion (US$200 million) and the current pipeline of work represents a value of Kshs5.5 billion (US$70 million).

1982-1988
- First government contract to construct 10km of trunk sewer for Nairobi City Council in Mathare Valley Area. Contract value: US$143,000
- Completed subcontracted work for housing; roads; water supply; and sewerage systems for Kasarani Sports Complex, now known as Moi International Sports Complex. Contract value: US$15million
- First government contract to construct 10km of trunk sewer for Nairobi City Council in Mathare Valley Area. Contract value: US$143,000
- Low-cost housing scheme contract to construct 1000 high rise flats in Kibera awarded by National Housing Corporation. Subsequently awarded Phase II of Kibera high rise flats project, to construct an additional 1000 units. Contract value: US$23million
- Additional sewerage contract for Industrial Area Trunk Sewer Phase IV. Contract value: US$2million
1990-1998
- Kapsabet sewerage contract awarded by Ministry of Local Government. Contract value: US$16.8million
- Contract for construction of Mazingira House Complex, consisting of office blocks and residential units for Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources. Contract value: US$10million
- Government pool housing contract to construct 600 different types of houses in Voi, Kericho and Kapsabet towns. Contract value: US$20million
- EPZ sewerage and sewage systems contract in Athi River, funded by the World Bank. Contract value: US$10million
- Joint Venture with Intex Building and Civil Engineering Contractors Ltd; invited to tender for Naalya Housing Project in Kampala, Uganda. Awarded contract for first phase of 200 units, including related infrastructure. Contract value: US$12million
- Office of the President contract for the completion phase of the extension of Mazingira House (now CID Headquarters). Contract value: US$11million
- Invested in major plant and equipment for road works; won first road contract for 68km gravel road works in Nakuru District for Sururu- Likia-Pombo roads. Contract value: US$4.5million
- Four additional contracts for work in Trans Nzoia, Nakuru, Narok and Bomet districts. Total length of road work completed 1989-2003: 540km. Contract value: US$36million
2001-to date
- Contract for rehabilitation of Malaba border post awarded by Ugandan Government, funded by European Union. Contract value: US$3million. Completed and handed over in September 2003.
- First bitumen road contract for 24km of Olenguruone-Kiptagich road. Contract value: US$10million. Completed and handed over in April 2005.
- Contract to build an asphalt concrete road for 40km of Nkubu-Meru-Lewa Road. Contract value: US$13million.Completed and handed over in August 2007.
- Additional bitumen road contract to construct the 71km-Kapsowar-Chesoi-Chesegon Road in Marakwet District. Contract value: US$9million.Completed and handed over in July 2008.
- Major locally funded Asphalt Concrete road work contract for construction of Ena-Ishiara-Chaikiriga road. Contract value: US$40million.Completed and handed over the first section of 22km in November 2008. 2nd Section of 20km handed over in April 2010.
- Contract to construct 37km Bitumen road to Farm-Kawiru-Mutuati-Kachulu roads. Contract value: US$20million. Substantially completed and handed over 2 sections totalling 24km in August 2008 and April 2009 and final section 12 km in October 2009.
- Contract to construct 25 km Kagio-Baricho-Kerugoya Road and Baricho-Kibirigwa Road. Contract value: US$18.4million. Completed and handed over 18km in March 2010.
- Contract for rehabilitation of Lewa-Isiolo Bitumen Road 30Km. Contract Value: US$:21million. 70% complete anticipated completion September 2010.
- Most recently Contract to construct Road of 75km Ruiri-Isiolo, Amos Loop Roads and Isiolo-Muriri-Michimikuru Tea Factory to Bitumen Standard. Contract value:US$40million. Anticipated completion March 2012.
- We have currently been awarded two more road projects: Nanyuki-Lewa Road (A2) and rehabilitation and repair of Mukuyu-Githambo-Kiruri (D440) road. Contract value: US$25million.
